Bio: Ingrid Hotz-Davies is Professor for English Literature and Gender Studies at the University of Tübingen. Her interests include the contribution of women to English Literature from the Early Modern period to today as well as more generally the exploration of the limits and constraints, as well as the transgression of habituated ways of thinking, experiencing, interacting with tradition, or speaking: sidestepping shame or abjection (for example in Camp), embracing matter (for example in Early Modern mysticism), or inhabiting hostile ideological environments (for example in women’s appropriations of patriarchal religious models).
